10/- Grey & Pink, fresh Mint. "Double print" of Frame Plate variety, clearly visible at top and upper left. A recent discovery; not present in the Chapman, Nelson, Gray, Gawaine Baillie or Royal collections and previously unrecorded. [The most recent sales of comparative "double print" bi-coloured Kangaroo stamps were in the Arthur Gray Large Gold Medal collection, sold in New York in February 2007. In that auction, Lot 391, a mint Second Watermark 5/- with "doubly printed frame" sold for the equivalent of A$24,000 (including commission). That stamp is one of 4 mint examples known and is listed in the ACSC [2004] as 43c where it is valued at $25,000. Another mint example of this variety, but uniquely, perforated OS, and with a missing perforation, brought A$19,500 in the same New York auction, where it was Lot 403.].
