Lot Status
This area shows the status of each lot. Each lot will follow the same series of conditions.
First the lot will be made ready indicated by a BLUE square.
This means the lot is about to open.
Next the lot will enter opened status indicated by a GREEN square.
This means you are now able to place bids. During this status the square will remain green for all
types of bids received such as internet bids, room or absentee bids.
If no more bids come in the auctioneer will declare the lot as selling, this is
indicated by an ORANGE square.
Another status encounted occassionaly is the lot passed in status, indicated by
a PURPLE square.
This is similar to the selling status and you will have typically around 5 seconds to lodge a bid.
The last status is 'lot sold' which is indicated by a RED square.
If you are the successfull bidder then this will be confirmed by printing a message in red next to
the bid button indicating the winning bidder id for the given lot. Note also that for any kind of bid
received the country of origin of that bid will be displayed. Of course room bids will always be 'Australia'.
And then the whole process begins again for the next lot.
System latency information
At the bottom of your real-time screen in a grey font you have the system latency indicator.
You will notice that the number on the left is constantly changing, this is your latency
indicator and describes the connection quality between your computer and the Live Bid Online
control computers. The legend is located to the right of this number and describes what number ranges
are acceptible in order to achieve a smooth bidding experience. If your latency is too high is means
your bids may not lodge properly and/or your real-time screen updates will be delayed.
Please assure you give your internet connection priority when bidding and make sure all other
windows are closed and no files are being downloaded.
