Charles Leski Auctions hold major auctions each month, and Live Bid Online provides a means for absentee bidders to place bids before and during our auctions.

Bidding with Live Bid Online
Presently we support two major types of bidding: pre-auction bidding (before the live auction starts) and real-time bidding (during the live auction). For both types of bidding you will need a 'Live Bid Online' account that is activated for bidding.

Pre-Auction Bidding

Show detailed instructions on pre-auction bidding
What is it? This kind of bidding allows you to place bids before the auction starts live.
Where? Bidding takes place within the catalogue lots pages, view our current catalogues on the front page of this website.
How? By clicking the 'place bid' button and logging in, then select your maximum bid from the drop-down box and click bid button.
When? Bidding is open on any current catalogue that has forthcoming sessions.

Benefits of pre-auction bidding
  • Pre-auction bidding is interactive and provides you with immediate feedback on any bid you have placed.
  • You will be notified with "bid successful" and "outbid" notices (emails).
  • Bidding is open until the counter in the 'place bid' screen reaches zero (until the live auction starts).
Pre-auction bidding notes:
  • Depending on session times, the closing time for pre-auction bidding varies for different lots.
  • When pre-auction bidding has closed it means the live auction has started, and you can now follow the auction using the real-time screen.
You might be the high bidder after pre-auction bidding has finished, but it is still possible to be outbid at the last minute during the live auction, so it's best to monitor your lot on the live screen as well. If you win at the end of this stage, then the lot is yours and you're the winning bidder.
Real-Time Bidding

Show detailed instructions on real-time bidding - (instructions coming soon!)
What is it? This kind of bidding allows you to follow the auction as is progresses live in our auction room.
Where? Click 'Real-Time Bidding' from the menu at the top of the page.
How? Login, then click the 'place bid' button when you're happy with the asking price.
When? The official session start times can be viewed in the auction details page, counters also count down to the start of each session.

Benefits of real-time bidding
  • Watch the auction progress without an account or signing in, and when you're confident, register and participate.
  • You are able to see each lot and its bidding activity in real-time.
  • Bids placed using this screen will directly effect the price before the hammer falls.
Real-Time bidding notes:
  • For an effective way to secure your lot(s), try pre-auction bidding in combination with real-time bidding.
  • For your information, about 100-120 lots are auctioned per hour.
  • The real-time auction may advance at different speeds through the lots depending on the auctioneers progress.
  • The 'main' auction counter displayed on the front and 'my account' pages counts down to the auction starting live, at which time you can login and use real-time bidding.
  • Please make sure you are using an ADSL, cable or similar broadband connection.
  • No special software is required to use our real-time bidding control panel.
